Immediate Dental Implants

In some cases a dental implant can be placed at the same time as removing the failed tooth. This is often considered when upper front teeth or upper or lower premolar teeth are being replaced. The shape the root and the shape of the implant is similar and this allows for the procedure to be done at one time.

The advantage is a time saving of four months. Only one surgical procedure is necessary. The most important determinant is whether there is ample bone to support the new implant. There is a possibility of putting a temporary crown directly on the implant.
